Julie Chen Moonves will host the popular reality show that has been a summer sensation Big Brother. The show will return to CBS on the 5th of August to begin its third season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, where she was the host and the moderator. Her writing background was evident prior to becoming a host, but her passion was to write. It actually won the show an Emmy. She also won the Emmy for hosting as well as an outstanding entertainment talk show. From 2002 to 2010, Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. In the past, she served as CBS Morning News anchor and the host of The Early Show. In the wake of 9/11 Chen Moonves uncovered the father and lead hijacker to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves's stories feature newsmakers such as the former New York City City mayor Rudy Giuliani; Queen Rania Jordanian, William Cohen (former Defense Secretary) and famous people like Denzel Washington. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton located in Dayton in Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). While completing her last year of university, she worked as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and was the producer of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). As a desk assistant, she worked in ABC News' Nightline program alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is one of her journalists heroes. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel on the Columbia duPont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focused on events surrounding the Los Angeles riots of '92.
